Cal Poly Student Death; Aubrey Murray died by suicide on March 16

The Cal Poly Student Affairs has announced the passing of Aubrey Murray, a senior majoring in electrical engineering who passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025. She was a brilliant student, always active and engaged, and particularly enjoyed the hands-on learning opportunities at Cal Poly. She had recently become a member of the Cal Poly Climbing Club.

She was said to have died by suicide. According to the statement released by the school, The university is in touch with Aubrey’s family and is extending its full support to them and her friends. Our thoughts are with them as they grieve their loss.

It is never easy to share news like this, and we know that processing this loss can be difficult for members of our community. Please know that we care about your well-being and strongly encourage you to utilize the following resources below if you need additional support.
