Macomb County Shooting; Active shooter at Corewell Health Beaumont Hospital

On the morning of Thursday, March 20, 2025, an active shooter situation unfolded at Corewell Health Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. At approximately 8 a.m., a hospital employee shot a coworker in the hospital’s parking garage. The victim sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital’s emergency room; their condition remains undisclosed.

The suspect, identified as a hospital employee, fled the scene and remains at large. Law enforcement agencies, including the Troy Police Department, Michigan State Police, and Sterling Heights Police Department K9 units, are actively conducting a manhunt. Air support from the Department of Homeland Security and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, along with drone units from Shelby Township Police Department, are assisting in the search efforts.

The hospital is currently on lockdown, with a substantial police presence on-site. Authorities have advised the public to avoid the area and for those within the facility to adhere to “run, hide, fight” protocols. This incident is considered isolated, and there is no belief that the suspect is still on the hospital premises.
