Authorities in Pueblo, Colorado, are investigating an apparent murder-suicide after two people were found dead inside a home on Sunday morning.
Pueblo police officers responded to a call in the 2200 block of Inspiration Lane just before 8:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers secured the area and later entered the home with the assistance of the Pueblo SWAT team, where they discovered the bodies of a couple.
According to Pueblo Police Department spokesperson Bianca Hicks, investigators are treating the case as a murder-suicide, though it has not yet been confirmed which individual was responsible for the fatal acts.
Detectives from the Crimes Against Persons unit, along with crime scene investigators, processed the scene following a search warrant. The Pueblo County Coroner’s Office will publicly identify the victims once their next of kin have been notified.
The case remains under active investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances leading up to the tragic incident.
